The District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) is a uniquely structured financial intermediary and administrator dedicated to affordable housing programs and resources for Washington, D.C. As a mission-driven organization, DCHFA plays a pivotal role in making affordable housing accessible through financing, development, and community engagement initiatives. By partnering with both public and private sectors, DCHFA leverages resources to foster economic growth, stability, and sustainable housing opportunities within the District.

In my role with DCHFA, I was responsible for the end-to-end art direction and design of various creative materials. My core design responsibilities included:
Advertisements: Crafting visually compelling and message-driven advertisements to promote DCHFA’s programs and initiatives to the community.
Brochures: Developing informative and engaging brochures that highlighted DCHFA’s services and resources.
Social Media Graphics: Designing dynamic social media assets to increase online visibility, engage with followers, and reinforce DCHFA’s brand presence.
Program Logos: Creating distinctive logos that reflect the unique identity of each DCHFA program while aligning with the agency’s brand standards.
Annual Reports: Designing comprehensive and visually appealing annual reports that convey DCHFA’s achievements, financials, and mission impact.
IN THIS ROLE,
I undertook the complete re-branding of DCHFA. This initiative involved a full identity redesign, brand guidelines, and a strategic overhaul of their advertising and marketing approach to create a cohesive, impactful brand image. The re-branding project encompassed:
Brand Identity Package: Establishing a new logo, typography, and color palette to present a fresh, modern face for DCHFA.
Brand Guidelines: Creating detailed guidelines to ensure brand consistency across all communications and media.
Advertising and Marketing Campaigns: Refreshing and standardizing the agency’s advertising assets to align with the new brand vision.
Email Marketing and Social Media: Implementing the new brand look and feel into digital channels to enhance community outreach and engagement.
